Emirates is raising capacity to Sri Lanka by 30% with an additional service from Dubai.
The expansion comes as the carrier supports Sri Lanka’s plans to boost tourist arrivals to three million in 2025.
Emirates’ expanded schedule provides more options for UK travellers connecting to Colombo via Dubai, expanding accessibility to Sri Lanka.
The new flight, operated by a 360-passenger Boeing 777-300ER, will operate six times a week until April 1 when a seventh weekly frequency will be added.
Emirates now runs four daily flights between Dubai and Colombo, including one via Male, with connections for UK passengers from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Scottish capital will be served by a new Airbus A350 from today (Friday).
