EasyJet expands Southampton network with new Paris route

EasyJet has added Paris as an eighth route from Southampton airport.

The new twice-weekly service to Paris Orly, with one-way fares starting at £20.99, comes as the budget airline ramps up to 21 departures a week from the south coast airport during summer peak – a 31% increase from last year.

The carrier has started routes from Southampton to Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast, Faro, Glasgow and Palma in the past 18 months.

The year-round Paris Orly service is operating on Mondays and Fridays, enabling sister tour operation easyJet holidays to offer city breaks from Southampton to the French capital.

EasyJet has flown 300,000 passengers to and from the airport since starting flights from Southampton in 2017 to Geneva.

Airport managing director Gavin Williams, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome easyJet’s new route to Paris Orly, further strengthening Southampton airport’s role as a key gateway for the central south.

“This addition not only connects our region to one of the world’s most iconic cities but also highlights the growing demand for convenient, well-connected travel options for the central south region.

“With eight easyJet destinations now available and a 31% increase in departures this summer vs last year, Southampton Airport continues to be a vital asset for both business and leisure travellers in the region.

“We look forward to growing easyJet’s presence even more at Southampton airport in the months and years to come.”

EasyJet UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “Our new twice weekly service from Southampton to Paris Orly will provide our customers in the south of England with a convenient connection to the French capital.”
