Homeworking agent Debbie Brumby has won a cruise to the Galápagos after making a £48,000 booking to Antarctica with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions.
The owner of Debonair Travel Management – affiliated to Global Travel Collection’s Protravel brand – hopes to travel with her partner on the Galápagos by Catamaran sailing with the cruise line in November.
The incentive was part of the cruise line’s wave campaign earlier this year and the prize was awarded to the agent with the highest-value sale.
Brumby sealed her win after making a £48,000 booking in February for three people on the Antarctica Direct: Sail and Fly the Drake Passage cruise.
“When I first heard that I was the winner of a Galápagos cruise with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, I was in complete disbelief,” said Brumby.
“I had just won the adventure of a lifetime: a voyage to one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on Earth.
“Winning this incredible trip wasn’t down to luck; it came from dedication and hard work.
“After several weeks of working with clients to curate exceptional travel experiences, my efforts paid off in the most extraordinary way imaginable.
“Knowing that my commitment to helping others plan their dream vacations had now unlocked a dream trip of my own felt incredibly rewarding.
“Winning this trip feels like the culmination of hard work, passion, and a deep love for travel.”
Commenting on the destination, she said: “The Galápagos is a living laboratory of evolution and an explorer’s paradise.
“To experience it firsthand, with Lindblad’s expert team and National Geographic’s storytellers guiding the way, is a privilege I’ll treasure forever.”
She said the Antarctic cruise with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions had stood out among several other options for “several key reasons”.
“What ultimately sealed the deal was Lindblad’s unique partnership with National Geographic,” she said.
“For my clients, the opportunity to travel alongside National Geographic experts – from seasoned naturalists to world renowned photographers – added an extra layer to the depth and value to this journey.
“Lindblad’s responsible travel and immersive experiences aligned perfectly with what my client is seeking for the family.”
Cheshire-based Brumby has been an agent for 35 years and set up Debonair Travel Management after being made redundant amid the pandemic.
As well as luxury leisure travel, she offers corporate travel services and equestrian holidays.
